The Dickenson County Board of Supervisors on July 27, 2021 at the Dickenson Center for Education and Research located at 818 Happy Valley Dr., Clintwood, Virginia will hold a PUBLIC HEARING at 5:30 P.M. to receive public comment concerning the adoption of an Amended Ordinance Providing for the Establishment of County Election Districts and Precincts and to Establish Polling Places Within Such Precincts, pursuant to Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution of Virginia, and Sections §15.2-1211 and §24.2-304.1 et seq. of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended. The Amended Ordinance would make the following change:
1. The current Ridge voting precinct located in the Kenady election district would split into two separate voting precincts. TOWIT:
a. Ridge voting precinct located at 119 Omaha Sunset Road;
b. Longs Fork voting precinct located at the new Dickenson County Food Bank Building at 1286 Browning HOLW, Clintwood, VA at Longs Fork.
The current Ridge voting precinct will be split into two separate voting precincts returning Longs Fork voters to their historic polling place at the new Dickenson County Food Bank building at 1286 Browning HOLW, Clintwood, VA at Longs Fork, while allowing the voters of the historic Ridge precinct to continue to vote at their Ridge voting precinct at 119 Omaha Sunset Road.
A copy of the proposed ordinance may be inspected and obtained in the County Administrator's office at the Dickenson Center for Education and Research in Clintwood, Virginia.
