NOTICE OF THE DICKENSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HOLDING OF A COMPLETELY ELECTRONIC PUBLIC MEETING
The Dickenson County Board of Supervisors will on January 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., pursuant to Virginia Code §2.2-3708.2, hold a completely electronic joint meeting with the Dickenson County Industrial Development Authority. The President of the United States has declared a national emergency due to the COVID pandemic dated 3/13/2020. The Governor of Virginia has declared a state of emergency due to the COVID pandemic date 3/12/2020. The Governor of Virginia and the State Health Commissioner declared a public health emergency on 3/17/2020. The Dickenson County Board of Supervisors confirmed the declaration of a local emergency made by the Director of Emergency Management on 3/21/2020, specifically finding that the COVID 19 pandemic constitutes a disaster as defined in the Virginia Code §44-146.16 being a communicable disease which poses a public health threat.
In addition, the Dickenson County Board of Supervisors on the 17th day of November,2020 adopted an emergency ordinance allowing the continuity of government operation during the COVID pandemic.
Pursuant to the above statutory authorization and County ordinance the Dickenson County Board of Supervisors will hold a completely electronic joint virtual meeting with the Dickenson County Industrial Development Authority on January 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. The COVID pandemic makes it impractical and unsafe, even life threating, for a quorum of the governing body to physically assemble in one location. Each Board Member will participate from a separate virtual location. Each Board Member at their separate virtual location will have available for use the ability to communicate with the other members of the Board in real time including audio and video communications.
The public notice of this joint electronic meeting shall be given to the Coalfield Progress, the Dickenson County, VA Official Website at www.dickensonva.org and to members of the Dickenson County governing body.
The public will have access to the virtual meeting via the Dickenson County Virginia - You Tube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/DickensonCountyVirginia.
The meeting agenda will be posted on the Dickenson County, VA Official Website at http://www.dickensonva.org.
