The Dickenson County Office of Voter Registration and Elections will continue to be staffed during regular business hours 8:30am to 4:30pm with NO public access. We will begin absentee voting on Friday, March 20, 2020 for residents of the Town of Clinchco, Clintwood, and Haysi who wish to cast an in-person absentee ballot for the May 5, 2020 Town Election.
All in-person absentee voting and voter registration will be handled curbside at the rear entrance of the Dickenson Center for Education Monday through Friday during regular office hours.
We strongly encourage any individuals needing to register to vote to do so by mail or online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/. The deadline to register to vote or to update an address for the May 5 election will be April 13, 2020. If you wish to have a registration form mailed to you, please call our office and we will be happy to mail you one.
We strongly encourage all voters to consider requesting that an absentee ballot be mailed to them by using Reason Code 2A (disability or illness) on the absentee application so that they may vote from home. Anyone who wishes to vote from home may request an absentee ballot by visiting https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/or by contacting our office directly to request an application.
The final day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed will be April 28, 2020.
The final day to cast an in-person absentee ballot will be Saturday, May 2, 2020.
