FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT DOCUMENT REQUEST SCHEDULE OF FEES
Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-3704, a locality may make reasonable charges incurred in accessing, duplicating, supplying, or searching for records that have been requested. Accordingly, the Dickenson County Board of Supervisors has adopted the following schedule of fees for processing FOIA requests:
• $0.50 per page copied, scanned, or printed, and
• Employees' hourly wage for their time spent responding to the FOIA request.
In any case where the County determines in advance that the charges for producing the requested records are likely to exceed $200.00, the County will, before continuing to process the request, require the requester to agree to payment of a deposit not to exceed the amount of the advance determination. The deposit shall be credited toward the final cost of supplying the requested records.
Before processing a request for records, the requester shall be required to pay any amounts owed to the County for previous requests for records that remain unpaid 30 days of more after billing.
